Spring Whale Migration
With 2200 pristine acres to explore and more than a mile and a half of private bluff front, there’s no better place to spot the annual migrating gray whales than where the continental shelf drops dramatically right off our coastline. It is not uncommon to spot whales 50 yards from our sea cliffs as they travel north with their calves through the end of April. Bring your binoculars and blanket (or borrow ours) and snuggle up for an afternoon of watching the water and waiting to wave at the passing whales with their offspring. Upon returning to the Inn, unwind from the afternoon outing with house-signature Gray Whale cocktails by our cozy stone fireplace at the Main Inn followed by dinner for two each night. Break out your wellies and prepare to learn about the joys of Fall & Winter Food Foraging with a guided mushroom tour on our stunning 2200 acre private ranch.
Package includes a four hour educational UTV excursion of the ranch, while scavenging for delicious edible mushrooms. Following the scavenger hunt, a picnic lunch will be served fireside with wine and tea, as well as the option to create and inoculate your own “mushroom log” to take home with you. Following your day in the woods enjoy the bounty of your foraging at the ranch’s tasting menu in the evening.
