Creative Journey Retreats and Vegan Retreats at Stanford Inn by the Sea
On the Mendocino Coast, the Stanford Inn by the Sea is hosting two very special retreats this spring focused on improving guests’ physical and emotional well-being. Led by registered art therapist and author Joan Stanford, the Creative Journey Retreat features “playshops” which offer profound opportunities for self-expression and discovery using collage, art making, writing, and more. The retreat will be held May 8-11, 2025, and includes three nights lodging, three breakfasts, three dinners, five creative experiences, open studio time, and a complimentary copy of Joan’s book The Art of the Play. The cost is $1,910 for single occupancy stays or $1,310 per person ($2,620 per couple) for double occupancy stays (excluding gratuity).
For those who are vegan-curious (or already vegan), the resort’s Wellness Director, Sid Garza-Hillman, will lead two Vegan Retreats this spring for participants to learn the joy of plant-based living. The Vegan Retreats will be held March 6 – March 10, 2025, and May 15 – May 19, 2025. The retreats include four nights’ lodging, four dinners, four breakfasts, two vegan cooking classes, a nutrition class, and much more. The cost is $2,218.50 for single occupancy stays or $1,572.50 per person ($3,145 per couple) for double occupancy stays (excluding gratuity). To book either retreat, please call 707-937-5615.
Wellness+ Nervous System Reset and Next Generation Azure Otter Ooutriggers Packages
Known as one of the country’s premier eco-resorts, Stanford Inn by the Sea continues to expand its wellness offerings with the introduction of Biofield Tuning at its Massage in the Forest Spa.
Led by Advanced Practitioner Joseph Goforth, who is certified through the Biofield Tuning Institute, the 90-minute treatment uses tuning forks applied within the body’s energetic field to support deep relaxation, emotional release, nervous system balance, and mental clarity. The treatment aligns with growing traveler interest in restorative wellness experiences rooted in mindfulness and holistic healing.
Additionally, The Stanford Inn’s on-site outfitter, Catch a Canoe & Bicycles Too, is also preparing for the future with the development of next-generation Azure Otter outriggers and catamaran canoes created specifically for the Big River Estuary. The new ultra-stable models — which accommodate between two and six people — are designed to be especially family-, pet-, and beginner-friendly, expanding access to one of the Mendocino Coast’s most scenic outdoor experiences.
